One Step Away: Embrace change

Change is not easy for a lot of people. It was not easy for me. To understand that the things that I did over and over again would keep giving me the same results took a very long time.

There are those among us who follow the same pattern. The continued need to feed our addictive tendencies permeate our existence. We continue to play the scratch-offs. We continue to drink or drug. We continue to gamble. Or simply continue to live out our existence not believing that we are capable of obtaining anything else.

Many of us continue in the same relationships, knowing, full well, that these relationships are not going anywhere. We simply are not open to, and refuse to, change. In order for change to take place, we must be open to new thoughts and ideas. We must believe in a power greater than drugs, alcohol, bad relationships, and simply being stuck in a dead-end job.

We must believe in a higher power and then believe in ourselves. We must open our minds to thoughts outside of what we have been used to hearing. We must allow for change to happen. We should relish change, embrace change, and welcome it into our hearts and our homes. We should share our thoughts on these new issues, for surely knowledge transcends generations and not the material things that we often crave.
