If you’re training for the upcoming Philadelphia Marathon weekend, chances are you have a few four or five-mile runs to complete as part of your weekly mileage. That’s why you’ll definitely want to add The Ghost Race to your calendar this week!
On Monday, Lululemon opened up their brand new, totally free, virtual 8K out-and-back course on the Schuylkill River Trial.
Here’s how it works:
All you have to do is sign up for Strava, a social network and tracking app for athletes, and use it to log your run on the course, which starts at the South Street Bridge.
No bibs, no race fees, no time constraints. Just run the course as often as you’d like until it closes on Sunday, Oct. 23 and keep tabs on who’s topping the leader board. Prizes will be awarded once the results are tallied.
And if you’re looking for some non-virtual competition, you’ll have the opportunity to race against some of Philly’s most notorious runners every day this week.
The midnight opening run on Monday with RUN215 founder Jon Lyons featured zombie runners and Lululemon race shirts. Tonight at 6:30 you can compete against Surge Running co-founder (and On The Run contributor!) John Goldthorp. Appearances by City Fit Girls, November Project, the Conshy Running club and more are also on the calendar.
Every runner who completes the course will be invited to an awesome after party hosted by Lululemon at the 23rd Street Armory on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
