Notre Dame lost out on the nation's top quarterback recurit for 2012 when Gunner Kiel, nephew of former Irish QB Blair Kiel, committed to play for Indiana, according to reports in the Indianapolis Star and The Republic of Columbus newspapers.

New Indiana coach Kevin Wilson helped develop Sam Bradford at Oklahoma.

Earlier this month, another top QB recruit Maty Mauk from Ohio committed to play for Missouri.

Does anyone really believe Notre Dame will be a top program again? Oh wait a minute, wasn't Weiss supposed to be their saviour? Hated them ever since the nuns forced me to sing their fight song in glee club in first grade. That, and McNamara's band.

U know I was going to respond to John's blog about Gunner Keil then I start reading the posts from the nit wits that are assoiciated with that team up happy valley. U know you guys never change. Same stuff all the time "who cares about ND around here" "ND stinks" "I hate ND" you guys dont stop. Yes the Irish have been really inconsistent since Lou left but one thing you goofs cant argue with no matter what is we will still be relevent no matter what and let me tell you look out for the Irish this year. Here come the Irish! Plus you guys are throwing stones especially with Joe PA (who I respect but dislike) still around? 7 or 8 wins a year I guess is good for a program that only won 2 national titles in thier history.

    GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me ! Those folks questioning why a ND blog should know that whenever the Irish play in the area, the result is a sold out stadium . Refer to last year's games at the new Meadowlands and Yankee Stadium . That should provide a pretty good clue . As to Mr. Kiel, I respect his right to choose as he pleases ; however, how can you turn down the opportunity to play at the most storied programs in college football history ? And yes, the Irish will be a power again . I have full faith and confidence in Coack Kelly . Go Irish !

You hit the nail right on the head Joe R. Truth, never said the Irish had not been good since Lou left. Just said they have been inconsistent. That changes this year!

    WE ARE ND!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a little something for everyone on this thread...the football programs at PSU & ND both stink right now, and that's not changing any time soon. They lost a top QB recruit to a sorry program like Indiana...that's hilarious.
