Crunching the Numbers

NJ Spotlight budget and public finance writer John Reitmeyer joined NJTV's Rhonda Schaffler to crunch the numbers on the $37.4 billion state budget plan that Gov. Phil Murphy proposed to lawmakers at the State House yesterday. They discussed everything from a boost in K-12 education aid that Murphy is planning to deliver to whether the state could be in line for a credit-rating upgrade thanks to the budget, which is the first major policy proposal to come from the first-term Democrat since he took office earlier this year.
