While most of the attention in Trenton yesterday was on Gov. Corzine’s State of the State address, Camden County’s newest state senator took the oath of office.

State Sen. James Beach, (D., Camden) sent a note to constituents saying “I’m rolling up my sleeves and going to work for you immediately.”

On the state of the state, he said he work with Corzine. “I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues and the Corzine administration.”

Beach, the former Camden County Clerk, replaces U.S. Rep. John Adler, (D., N.J.) who is the first Democrat in memory elected to represent the 3rd Congressional District which runs through Burlington and Ocean counties and includes Cherry Hill in Camden County.
