Radnor cops buckle down on teens not wearing seat belts

Radnor Township police will join school district officials Feb. 14 in kicking off a campaign urging teens to wear seat belts.

The educational session be held at 2 p.m. Valentine's Day at the Radnor High School, 130 King of Prussia Rd. The sessions will be given at other private and public schools in the township from Feb. 14 to March 4.

State law enacted in December 2011 requires all persons under the age of 18 to wear a seat belt, said Sgt. Chris Flanagan, head of the traffic safety unit. Those found not to be wearing set belts will be ticketed, he said.

Flanagan said PennDOT is helping sponsor the educational drive in an effort to reduce the number of teens killed in car crashes.
