This week the girls learned that cooking can be not only a way to create nutritious meals inexpensively, but can also be a productive way to let off steam. Our students faced a week of intensive testing, and it was evident that they were in need of stress relief. Our usual food prep, cooking and cleaning regime was interspersed with group singing, dancing, and chatter. Despite all this activity the girls still managed to write in their blue books, examining questions such as “what is your favorite food and how could you create recipes using this food?”
Eventually we sat down to eat our "Parmesan-Crusted Zucchini Fries" which garnered mixed reviews, and our "Turkey and Mushroom Tacos" which everyone thought were delicious, especially the guacamole topping.
