Week 4: Not just about the food

Cooking, especially with friends, can be a joyful and heartwarming experience. “I have created a lot of fun memories with my friends,” said Axelle Anadja. “I love being with them as I chop, mince, and sauté the foods.”

“The dip was amazing,” said Destini Stanton, who wasn’t expecting it to be that delicious.

Sierra Mernick, who is training for the Broad Street Run, said: “The food has been consistently good and I have learned a lot about cooking and the proper methods of preparing. Cooking from scratch is a much healthier way to eat.” she said. “It’s not all about the cooking, it’s that we come together to help one another,” said Decharn Thomas who took it upon himself to read the dip recipe and create it on his own.

Hands down, the dip was by far the favorite of all. The kids gobbled it up and thought what a great after school snack it would be. Even deciding what veggies to try each time would add to the delicious flavor.
