Week 2: Teamwork, and a growing confidence

Kayla Campbell, Amaana Lawrence, Evelyn Feldman, and Allen Shears IV brown the turkey meat, celery and onions for the sloppy joe recipe they are making during Week 2 of My Daughter’s Kitchen at Wissahickon Fernhill.

Who knew that Evelyn Feldman, one of our 10 year old chefs would think the pickled cucumbers were "too sweet"? After only one week of experience with chef's knives we could see their confidence growing as they cut their cucumber coins. From preparation to setting the table the students worked together as a team. It is hard to believe they are only in 5th grade.
