Safety first when using the cutting knife, peeler, and grater

This week’s menu of tortellini vegetable salad offered lots of opportunity to work with kitchen implements.  Everyone learned safe techniques for working with a cutting knife, peeler and grater.  The menu’s diverse ingredients led to discussion of protein value, food groups and other nutritional information.   Students already knew a lot but learned new information about healthy eating.   The outcome of the class was both educational and deliciously edible!
