Maureen Barrett, Daisha Brown, Daisy Orr, Stephanie Kelly, Gena Whitaker, Nakira Thorpe, and Mariann Owens prepare to eat their celebration meal of Moroccan Chicken and Strawberry Rhubarb Bars during the last session of the Spring 2017 My Daughter's Kitchen cooking program at LaSalle Academy.

This dish was such a hit with all the children last week, that they couldn't wait to make it for their families. We had an all girl class this week, so there was definitely more chatter and more giggles. And they have learned to multitask because they finished all the prep work as well!

We sometimes have children from our previous classes pop in to visit and say hi. One of the biggest compliments was when Avieanna Medina popped in and said: "Guess what I made last week? Stuffed peppers! My Mom wasn't feeling well, so I had to make dinner." Way to go, Avi!

The children's families loved both the chicken and the dessert. Gena Whitaker's Grandmother said she couldn't wait until Gena got home with the leftovers each week to see what dish they had made and how it tasted.

Mission accomplished!
