Fruit crisp too mushy! too tart! too hot!

My Daughter\'s Kitchen Kitchen Notebook week 7, fall 2017-11122017-0001
Yoeleiny Rodriguez-Hernandez, Daniela Vazquez, and Kristina Perez make the apple, pear and cranberry crisp topping during week 7 of the fall 2017 My Daughter's Kitchen cooking program at Cayuga.

The girls worked hard this week to get the main dish and dessert finished in our limited time frame. All of the girls had some experience eating meatloaf and mashed potatoes made by a relative. Overall they enjoyed the process of making meatloaf and the prepping the dessert. We got both items in the oven then concentrated on the smashed potatoes. Yoeleiny loved the smashed potatoes and was doctoring them up with spices from the pantry. Garlic powder was her favorite flavor addition. The crisp was universally disliked among the children. The adults loved it! It was too everything; tart, not sweet enough, mushy, & hot.
