Cheese-filled tortellini get mixed reviews

Daniyah Bundick, Aniyah Baker, Jaden Holmes, Aishe Fomba, and Kevin Looney display the tortellini with zucchini and peas that they learned to make during week 2 of the Spring 2017 My Daughter's Kitchen cooking program at Philadelphia Montessori.

Today we explored a variety of colorful vegetables for our tortellini salad.  We asked Siri why tomatoes are a fruit and learned that it’s because they have seeds!   We used a spiralizer to spiral the zucchini. The class was surprised to learn that pumpkins are in the same family as zucchini.  The meal itself got mixed results:  Aniyah didn’t like the cheese filling in the tortellini, but Kevin and Daniyah gave the meal an “A.”
