Avi’Aun Pellot concentrates on dicing during week 1 of the Spring 2018 My Daughter's Kitchen cooking program at Urban Promise.

“Food is my main priority” declared Noah McBride when we met.  Wow, our Urban Promise 5th graders arrived with skills and enthusiasm.  Setting the stage for well-choreographed breakfast burrito making, Cymara Williams and Avi’Aun Pellot diced onions and red peppers like pros.  With everyone taking a turn at whisking, the eggs were light and fluffy.  Jaden Mosley was happy to eat together “just like a family” and the results achieved a “triple thumbs up” from Noah.  In addition to expanding our culinary knowledge, the junior chefs learned new vocabulary including skillet, saute, wilt, whisk, and mis en place.
