Breakfast veggie pockets taught students 'how to cut with bear claws'

The cooks in volunteer Nancy Smith 's Wednesday My Daughter's Kitchen cooking class at Bayard Taylor decide the eggs are perfect and ready to serve.

Only three of our five students were able to make the week one, and all three were completely engaged in the entire class from learning proper knife skills to sautéing veggies and scrambling eggs.  Everyone completely enjoyed the breakfast veggie pockets and orange slices and looked forward to making the dish for their families. Basima enjoyed the class because, "It was a lot of fun, I tried new food and met new people."  Joseph learned "how to cut with bear claws" and Yasemily liked the class because she is learning to cook. Looks like this semester is off to an excellent start.
