Adding bay leaf to the minestrone made it burst with flavor

Gena Whitaker and Stephanie Kelly add ingredients to the minestone soup that they learned to make during week 3 of the My Daughter's Kitchen cooking program at LaSalle Academy.

The children handled the onion chopping like champs!  They also noticed how we used zucchini,  carrots and tomatoes differently in this week's recipe compared to last week's. Stephanie Kelly tended to the pot on the stove and carefully stirred in each ingredient as it was added to the pot. Gena Whitaker loved the taste of the soup and thought the bay leaf gave it a burst of flavor. She also loved all the different colored vegetables and said she can't wait to make this at home!
