Who's picking the Eagles?

Here's a roundup of who's picking the Eagles in their Week 3 matchup against the Jaguars.

Here's the weekly roundup on who people are picking in Sunday's Eagles-Jaguars matchup.

SI.com's Peter King likes the Eagles, 33-20:

The Eagles' offensive line is the worst it's been in a decade, and deep down, that had to play some part in Andy Reid's decision to go to Michael Vick on Tuesday. Vick's never been sacked more than three times a game on average in any previous season. He's gone down nine times in six quarters this year. But the big difference in this game, even if the Jags send the house more often than usual, is that Vick is more accurate than he's been before. Granted it's only a game and a half, but that's a big factor in how well he's playing, and I think it continues in Jacksonville.

Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com predicts a 27-16 Eagles victory:

What was your favorite moment of the Kevin Kolb era in Philly? The unforgettable preseason game he had against the Jets? The 10 pass attempts he threw in Week 1 against the Packers? Conan O'Brien hosted the Tonight Show 10 months longer than Kolb was the starting quarterback in Philly. Of course, this isn't without precedent. Despite winning a Super Bowl and leading the Giants to a 10-1 start to the 1990 season, Phil Simms never got the starting gig back from Jeff Hostetler when he went down with an injury in Week 12. Drew Bledsoe was a franchise quarterback who'd led the Patriots to a Super Bowl, but never got the starting job back from Tom Brady after going getting hurt in 2001. Denny Green did it with Randall Cunningham over Brad Johnson in '98, too. Andy Reid is going with the hot hand here. I respect it. I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit surprised, but hey — this is the NFL. Nothing should surprise us.

ProFootballTalk.com's Mike Florio goes with the Birds, 24-17:

In January 2006, Marcus Vick played at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, and he stomped on the leg of then-Louisville defensive end Elvis Dumervil. For the first time since then, a Vick returns to the scene poised to stomp all over the Jaguars. But the problem with the Eagles isn't the offense but a defense that has surrendered 60 points in two games. Fortunately for Philly, the Jaguars don't have the horses to take advantage of that flaw.

Gregg Rosenthal of ProFootballTalk.com likes the Eagles, 33-24:

Perhaps Andy Reid didn't start Kevin Kolb because Reid knew Kolb would shred the Jaguars. Just about any quarterback could these days. Jacksonville has improved the defensive line, but the team's secondary threatens to torpedo the season. Michael Vick may not be one of the best quarterback in the league yet, but life with him will be beautiful for at least one more week.

Four of five CBSSports.com experts like the Birds to cover a 3.5-point spread.

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com predicts a 30-28 Jaguars win:

Mike Vick is now the starter for the Eagles. That's a risky move. His mobility will help a bad offensive line, but is that reason enough to start him? The Jaguars were terrible at San Diego and now must deal with Vick's feet. The key here will be David Garrard. Can he turn it around after being benched last week? Both teams have struggled on defense. This is a shootout.

All four experts on ESPN's Sunday Countdown pick the Eagles.

Six of eight ESPN.com experts go with the Eagles.

ESPN.com's Bill Simmons likes the Jaguars to cover. He writes that he's proud of Reid but is not sold on Vick:

I am not even remotely sold on Mr. Vick. Two garbage-time quarters in a Green Bay blowout plus four easy quarters indoors against a young Lions team does NOT equal "MICHAEL VICK IS BACK, BABY!" Week 3 will be a decent test: outdoors, on the road, in humid Florida. So will Week 4: home against McNabb's Redskins. And so will Week 5: at San Francisco. To paraphrase the great Winston Wolf, don't start sucking each other's Popsicles yet.

The Eagles are now 3-point favorites, according to sportsbook.com. Per the Web site, 82 percent of the action is on the Birds to cover. The over/under is 44.5.

Ron Pitts and former Bucs safety John Lynch will call the Eagles-Jaguars game at 4 p.m. on Fox. Those in the Philadelphia area will also get Giants-Titans at 1 p.m. on CBS and Colts-Broncos at 4 p.m. To find out what games are on in your area, check out this viewing map.
