Who's picking the Eagles?

Here's a weekly roundup of who's picking the Eagles in their Week 2 matchup against the Lions.

Here's the weekly roundup on who people are picking in Sunday's Eagles-Lions matchup.

SI.com's Peter King likes the Eagles, 20-13:

Tempting, very tempting, to pick the Lions, and I probably would if Matthew Stafford were playing. But I can't pick Shaun Hill to beat the Philadelphia Eagles when the game really matters.

Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com predicts a 27-16 Eagles victory:

Though they tend to get a bad rap (Booing Santa? What's so wrong with that? C'mon, he had a bad year!), you've gotta love Eagles fans. We're less than seven days into The Kevin Kolb era in Philly, and they already want it to be over. Can you blame them? In relief of an injured Kolb on Sunday, Michael Vick rushed 11 times for 103 yards, completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards and finished with a 101.9 passer rating in just two and half quarters of action. Let the controversy begin. As for Lions fans? Well, it's hard not to feel at least a little bad for them. Detroit's now 3-30 in their last 33 games and haven't won a road game since the G Dubbya Bush regime was in office. Losing on a peculiar (even if it was right) call like the one that decided Sunday's game has to be devastating. And anytime you see the name of your franchise quarterback and the name Dr. James Andrews scrolling next to each other on a sports ticker, you know you're in for another looooooong season.

ProFootballTalk.com's Mike Florio has the Lions pulling the upset, 20-13:

With Mike Vick making his first start since 2006, the question becomes whether he can play like he did against the Packers, who weren't prepared to face him, when facing a Lions team that knows Vick will be the guy. Lions coach Jim Schwartz never has had to defend Vick; when Schwartz served as defensive coordinator for the Titans, Schwartz's team was the last one to play the Falcons before Vick returned from a broken leg. Look for Schwartz to try to keep Vick in the pocket in the hopes that he'll be forced to throw -- and that he'll force a few mistakes. And then Kevin Kolb will get "healthy" quickly.

Gregg Rosenthal of ProFootballTalk.com likes the Eagles, 27-16.

All five CBSSports.com experts pick the Eagles to cover a 4.5-point spread.

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com goes with the Eagles, 34-20:

The Lions will start Shaun Hill at quarterback for the injured Matt Stafford and the Eagles might have to start Mike Vick because Kevin Kolb has concussion issues. It could be a game of backups. If Kolb starts, he has to play better. If it's Vick, and he plays well, the quarterback controversy will swell. The Lions have trouble defending any quarterback, so the edge is with the Eagles defense. No matter who starts at quarterback, the Eagles will find a way.

All four experts on ESPN's Sunday Countdown pick the Eagles.

Seven of eight ESPN.com experts pick the Eagles. Adam Schefter goes with the Lions.

The Eagles are now 6.5-point favorites, according to sportsbook.com. Per the Web site, 89 percent of the action is on the Birds to cover, although the line was lower earlier in the week. The over/under is 41.5.

Sam Ryan and Tim Rosen will call the Eagles-Lions game at 1 p.m. on Fox. Those in the Philadelphia area will also get Steelers-Titans at 1 p.m. and Patriots-Jets at 4 p.m. To find out what games are on in your area, check out this viewing map.
