What they're saying: Eagles vs. Cowboys

Here's one final roundup of what the national media are saying about tonight's Eagles-Cowboys matchup.

And as always, I'll be live chatting during the game.

If you missed it from Saturday, here's a breakdown I did of Michael Vick against the blitz.

On to the picks:

SI.com's Peter King likes the Eagles, 26-24:

Biggest surprise of this game? That it's more a LeSean McCoy-DeMarco Murray show than one between Mike Vick and Tony Romo. Murray won't be any secret, coming off his 253-yard rushing game against the Rams Sunday. But if you heard him on my podcast this week (shameless plug) or on any other of his countless interviews in the wake of the better-than-Emmitt game in his sixth NFL outing, you know it won't go to his head. That's good. I think regardless of how it goes down, Murray will have some gashings of the Eagles Sunday night, but Vick and McCoy will be a little bit better, running and passing.

SI.com's Don Banks names Nnamdi Asomugha to his All-Underachieving Team:

I predicted in the preseason that Asomugha might struggle with the Eagles, and wouldn't live up to the shutdown corner billing that he got in Oakland, and that's pretty much where things stand after his first six games in Philadelphia. Far from taking away half of the field, he has been picked on at times by Eagles opponents, against the likes of less-than-superstars Brandon Gibson of the Rams, Victor Cruz of the Giants and Michael Crabtree of the 49ers. In fairness, the Eagles might not be using him correctly. He's superb in man coverage, but they've had him playing zone a good bit of the time, and Asomugha is not the same player in that scheme.

He also has Andy Reid coaching the team:

The head man on the "Dream Team'' hasn't done his finest work meshing all his new toys. Starting with the Juan Castillo promotion to defensive coordinator, it's been a shaky effort for Reid in Philly.

Bill Simmons of Grantland has Michael Vick sixth in his QB power rankings:

Toughest starter to peg on the board. If I gave you an over/under of 7.5 more Vick games this season, you'd go under, right? What about consecutive healthy Vick weeks vs. consecutive married weeks for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries? You'd take HumpDash right?

Seven of eight ESPN experts pick the Eagles.

Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com likes the Cowboys, 31-27:

The Cowboys are just full of surprises. First. DeMarco Murray, Phillip Tanner and Laurent Robinson starred as the Cowboys' offensive difference-makers in Sunday's 34-7 win over St. Louis. Then, on Tuesday, a student at a suburban Dallas high school asked Tony Romo if he had any children. Romo replied that he didn't, but added, "I've actually got one on the way. My wife's pregnant." How about a surprise win in Philadelphia, too? Sure, why not? America's Team!

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk goes with the Eagles, 30-24. But PFT's Gregg Rosenthal has Dallas, 27-21:

The Eagles are a team of extremes. They lead the league in rushing. They lead the league in interceptions and turnovers. They outgain their opponents by 100 yards-per-week, and find a way to lose. Dallas knows how to blow fourth-quarter chances too, but they have something Philly does not: One of the best defenses in the league.
