What they're saying: Picking Eagles-Cowboys

Here's the weekly roundup of who's picking the Eagles in their matchup Sunday afternoon against the Cowboys.

And earlier Sunday, I posted Mike Check, with a detailed look at what the Vikings did against Michael Vick and a guess about if other teams will be able to replicate that success. On Saturday, I posted on LeSean McCoy's Pro Bowl credentials. And as always, I'll be chatting at 4:15 p.m.

SI.com's Peter King predicts a 23-20 Cowboys victory:

The Eagles need to rest Michael Vick here. Whoever plays quarterback for them this week, how ignaminious would it be to enter the playoffs having lost two straight home games to Joe Webb and Stephen McGee.

Peter Schrager of FoxSpors.com goes with the Eagles, 23-9:

Remember when all those members of the media said the Eagles were crazy for trading Donovan McNabb to a division opponent over Easter weekend? Remember when they said Andy Reid botched the Kolb-Vick situation back in September? Remember when I picked the Eagles to finish in fourth place of the NFC East before the season? Well, yeah, we all make mistakes. And maybe we should just let Andy Reid be. This season will mark the Eagles' ninth playoff appearance in Reid's 12 years. They've been to the NFC championship five times and to the Super Bowl once, losing to the New England Patriots in 2004.This year is also their eighth double-digit-win season under Reid. As for those who felt McNabb should retire in Eagles green, there’s still a chance. If he’s cut by Washington, I’m sure Philly would be open to considering him as a second- or third-string option next year.

Four of six FoxSports.com experts go with the Birds.

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com likes the Eagles, 36-27:

The Eagles bombed in a loss to the Vikings, but the Cowboys secondary is just the thing Mike Vick needs to get tuned up for the playoffs. It looks like Stephen McGee will make his first NFL start. Eagles big in a high-scoring game.

Four of five CBSSports.com experts pick the Birds.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com picks Dallas, 23-14:

The Eagles were flat on Tuesday night with Mike Vick. With Mike Vick expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, the NFC East champs likely won’t be any sharper. Jason Garrett makes a strong closing argument in an effort to make Jerry Jones mad as something less than hell.

Gregg Rosenthal of ProFootballTalk.com goes with the Eagles, 23-20:

The Wade Phillips Cowboys returned last week. Dallas lost a game because of turnovers, bone-headed decisions, and untimely defensive mistakes. Michael Vick may be sitting this one out, but Jon Kitna may as well. I’ll take Kevin Kolb over Stephen McGee.

All eight ESPN.com experts like the Birds.

Two of three Yahoo Sports experts and 77 percent of Yahoo Sports users like the Eagles.

The Birds are 3-point favorites against Dallas. According to BetUS.com, 53 percent of the action is on the Eagles to cover.
