RB Ward signs with Tampa

Running back Derrick Ward has found a home with the Tampa Bay Bucs, several media outlets are reporting this evening.

The deal was first reported by Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com and has been confirmed by FoxSports.com and ESPN.com.

We've been following Ward's free-agency tour since Thursday here at MTC, and it sounds like he got a rewarding deal.

The contract is reportedly worth $17 million over four years with $6 million guaranteed.

Mike Garafolo of The Newark Star-Ledger recently reported that Ward sought $3 million a year from the Giants, but they turned him down.

Ward ran for 1,025 yards last season and also caught 41 balls for 384 yards. He'll turn 29 before next season.

Earlier, in case you missed it, we wrote about T.J. Houshmandzadeh's new home in Seattle.
