Vick's contract, Fraley's next stop

A few quick links to pass along:

* Interesting piece on Michael Vick's contract by Andrew Brandt of the National Football Post. Brandt, who previously worked as a consultant for the Eagles, explains that the Eagles did not pick up Vick's option last week. They were actually just paying the $1.5M roster bonus he was due. In other words, the team did not take any action. Had they taken action and released Vick, they would not have had to pay the money.

Brandt also explains that Vick and his agent originally wanted a one-year deal last year, but the Eagles negotiated for two years:

The second year was the issue. Determined to hold on to potential free agency in 2010, Vick's side fought hard for a one-year deal until it finally relented. Vick had options, but those teams, while willing to give him a one-year deal, had other flaws.

He's got some details about Vick's 2010 salary and what will happen to the $1M guaranteed if Vick finds a new home.

*Ex-Eagles center Hank Fraley, who was let go by the Browns, will visit with the Rams today, according to the Twitter account of his agent, Ralph Cindrich. Cindrich also Tweeted that there is some interest by the Steelers, but no visit planned as of yet. Fraley told Les Bowen of the Daily News last week that he has a lot of respect for Andy Reid and the Eagles' organization, but he had no idea if the Birds would be a fit.

* Nothing to report, but interesting to note that I haven't heard a single rumor about a team being interested in Brian Westbrook. When Westbrook was released, the Vikings were thought to be a potential suitor. They brought in LaDainian Tomlinson for a visit, according to multiple reports.
