Vick gets endorsement deal

Michael Vick is not under contract with any NFL team for 2011.

But he has landed his first paid endorsement deal since getting out of prison.

Vick has signed a two-year deal with Unequal Technologies, according to the Associated Press.

Unequal Technologies makes pads that "reduce harmful impact shock." Per the company's Web site, they created the chest protector Vick wore to protect his ribs after returning from injury last season.

"We're real excited about it," chief executive officer Rob Vito told the AP. "Michael is good people. He paid his dues. President Obama reached out to him. He deserves an opportunity. This is what makes America so great. He's moved forward. He's a whole other person."

Terms of the endorsement deal were not announced.

You have likely seen Vick's commercials for Woodbury Nissan that have aired the past couple months, but according to the AP report, that did not qualify as an endorsement because he was not paid. Instead, he was given a Nissan SUV to use.

Earlier Tuesday, I posted on LeSean McCoy's effectiveness in 2010.
