Statements from Lurie and Reid

But this statement from the Eagles just popped in my inbox. Here are statements from Jeffrey Lurie and Andy Reid on Dawkins' departure.
From Lurie:
“Brian Dawkins has been one of the pillars of this franchise for 13 years. He helped lead us to five NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl. Brian embodies everything you look for in a professional athlete and human being. I have been fortunate to witness his impeccable character, his passion for the game of football and his commitment to being the best player he could be. I look forward to continuing a close relationship with him once his playing days are over. His legacy as an Eagle will last forever and will ultimately land him in Canton as a Hall of Famer.”
From Reid:
“Brian is one of the best players in franchise history and one of the most popular players to ever play in the city of Philadelphia. The Eagles organization, as well as the entire fan base, will miss him not only as a player but as a tremendous person. This is the toughest part of my job, no question. He gave this city 13 years of emotional, energetic football. We wish Brian and his family nothing but the best as he continues his career in Denver.”
As difficult as it might be, please try to refrain from using obscenities with your comments.
I bet Eskin is going to support their decision 100% beacuse he is their lap dog FlyersFan561
i could care less what they say, its their actions(letting dawk leave) that matter. slowski
Lurie, please. Shows that no matter how much money you have it still doesn't guarantee you know more than anyone else In this case you know even less. Sadly he owns the franchise, so sad. Reid, hold on while I clear my throat, ahem, that isn't the tough part of the business. The tough part is that your "I'm smarter than everybody" attitude is running our franchise in a downward spiral. While I enjoyed the playoff ride, it set us back 5 years or until the next coach can straighten things out. We will just move backwards as long as you are here. Oldehawks

this is very simple send Laurie, Banner and Moron a clear message get out of town and sell the team to a local! This is a disgrace any for a Boston owner in Philly! Banner go back to Germany and Reid just go away! losteagle
They suck. mmcm1959
Two things. God bless Dawk. We'll be cheering for you. As for Lurie, all he is a spoiled trust fund brat whose family bought him a franchise and who never had to work a day in his life. As for Reid, what kind of manager coach doesn't have a real full back, no 1 wide received, is 48 million under the salary cap and doesnt get a quality player (having your knee reconstructed and not having returned to football). How much you want to bet they got Stacy Andrews for a bargain basement price? Go to hell Lurie, Banner and Reid. GKC
Free t-shirt idea: Keep Dawkins. Trade Lurie! You're welcome. LarzNero
Too bad there's not one for Lurie and Banner. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/fire-andy-reid.html Footprints
Dave Spadero did a nice job on Lurie and Reid's statements. What a bunch phonies! 2Parm
Could it be that Dawkins was greedy? Eagles offered a contract that he turned down. mikemaddog
for you knowledgeable eagles fans, ...criticize all you want but no one can deny that the one thing the eagles and this management does right is let players go when their is little or nothing in the tank - dawk, we'll see you in 2010 for "brian dawkins day" at the linc and 2015 for Canton. egw18
