Redskins to acquire No. 2 pick for RGIII
Sheil Kapadia, Philly.com
Even though the draft is still about seven weeks away, the Robert Griffin III rumors can come to an end.
That's because the Redskins will acquire the No. 2 pick from the Rams, according to Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com. St. Louis will receive three first-rounders from Washington - the No. 6 pick this year, along with picks in 2013 and 2014. And the Rams will also get the Redskins' second-round pick in 2012, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
In addition to Eli Manning and Tony Romo, the Eagles can now expect to face Griffin twice a year for the foreseeable future.
The Redskins are paying a high price, but the truth is, if Griffin's a franchise quarterback, no one in D.C. will care that they gave up so much. Remember, this is a franchise that started Rex Grossman and John Beck for 16 games last season.
According to Glazer, the Redskins wanted to make a play for Peyton Manning, but he did not want to play for them. That's when they decided to aggressively move to land the second pick.
The challenge now for the Redskins will be surrounding Griffin with enough talent without those first-round picks.
The Rams, meanwhile, make out great. Jeff Fisher moves down four spots in this year's draft and will have additional first-rounders going forward. St. Louis is in great position to surround Sam Bradford with talent on the offensive side of the ball.

Hey Joe, the surprise will be the Eagles and McVick will lose ten or more games this year. Wait till you see what Dallas and New York does. Whoo Boy! mario1239
I didn't realize Washington still had a team...

RG III will be just as effective as RG I (Vince Young) and RG II (Jamarus Russell). Some of these "Football dumb" owners just can't follow the time proven blueprint to the championship. They get hopelessly hooked on the "Excitement" QB. Lurie is the epitome of "Football Dumb". Then again, the just as dumb fans get intoxicated with excitement QBs and enrich the dumb owners. 4in5out7gone
who cares...he shredded horrible defenses in the big 12...horrible as in 100th in nation. remember Vince Young? didnt he do the same thing in the big 12? not worried at all... jjjimjjj
NOW I KNOW WHAT THE III STANDS FOR Eddie Spaghetti
Show me your RINGS! Now shaddup and get back to your morning brews. You fools actually think Joe Banner would blog you idiots? Really? Banner and Lurie just want you suckers to keep drinking that green koolaid while they laugh all the way to the bank. Gotta go, I have Vincent Jackson on the phone ! 1960-1960-1960-1960- Ha ha ha !!! soprano50
Smart move for the Redskins. They can fill in talent with free agents because they will not be paying RG3 a large amount of money for first 4 years. RG3 will attract big name free agents, looks like WA. finally got a home run.
Better rebuild that D Eagles to stop this guy. camasbud
Rams just got a great deal. Unless they hire HR and AR to draft for them over the next few years. adipaolo- The scene: 8:30 AM...Dan Snyder wakes up at his kitchen table, groans...lifts his head up...empty bottle of tequila falls and breaks...he checks his phone...Blood shot eyes go wide..."I DID WHAT?"
well this sucks. RG3 can only make the skins better and its possible that he could make them a WHOLE WHOLE lot better. as an eagles fan youd be lying if you didnt say you were a little nervous about this trade. as for myself im really nervous. everyone that is hating on RG3 and not giving him the credit he deserves are the ones that really wanted to see him in an eagles jersey. i know i wanted him on any other team but the redskins. as for the FO and andy reid, my advice to you is to study and study hard for this draft. in my humble opinion we have way more draft picks than we need so i see alot of trading of picks for future picks. but, with our high picks we better not go after a guy just because reid likes his character, we need some mean mf'ers on defense. kag281
Just think of all the 6th and 7th round picks Andy can still get now that the Eagles aren't getting RG3!!! I can see a series of "high-motor" guys so he can throw "fastballs" at the defense, but who in reality are too small/fragile to play on the D-line and are better suited to playing in a 3-4 as a LB. Time is yours . . . El Tel- Oh boy, we're cooked
Well at least we won't have to worry about facing this guy again...

Nice, we sign baseball players and fireman to play football. Eagles first round pick will come from the Academy, the Police Academy. watsonmr
Skins won't be door mats of the east anymore! If they find a RB and a WR they'll be really tough. I think RG3 will be one of the best players from this draft. The kid put up the numbers, has the athleticism, good measurables, and is smart. RG3 could end up doing what Don did for us coming out of school, except he just might win them a championship.
