Redskins to acquire No. 2 pick for RGIII

Even though the draft is still about seven weeks away, the Robert Griffin III rumors can come to an end.

That's because the Redskins will acquire the No. 2 pick from the Rams, according to Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com. St. Louis will receive three first-rounders from Washington - the No. 6 pick this year, along with picks in 2013 and 2014. And the Rams will also get the Redskins' second-round pick in 2012, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In addition to Eli Manning and Tony Romo, the Eagles can now expect to face Griffin twice a year for the foreseeable future.

The Redskins are paying a high price, but the truth is, if Griffin's a franchise quarterback, no one in D.C. will care that they gave up so much. Remember, this is a franchise that started Rex Grossman and John Beck for 16 games last season.

According to Glazer, the Redskins wanted to make a play for Peyton Manning, but he did not want to play for them. That's when they decided to aggressively move to land the second pick.

The challenge now for the Redskins will be surrounding Griffin with enough talent without those first-round picks.

The Rams, meanwhile, make out great. Jeff Fisher moves down four spots in this year's draft and will have additional first-rounders going forward. St. Louis is in great position to surround Sam Bradford with talent on the offensive side of the ball.

The Redskins gave up two No. 1s, because they are only swapping 1st rounders this year, which represents the difference of only a few picks.

We believe in Michael Vick as our QB. Jeffrey, Howie Andy and I have a couple of surprises in the next two months that the fans will love. Have faith in one of the best organizations in the NFL.

I hope this really is Joe Banner and that you do have some surprises. The Eagles are a really talented team, but can't seem to get over the hump. In my humble opinion, they don't need exciting surprises, they just need to protect Mike V. and get to the other team's QB.

All: Vick is not the 4th best QB in the division. He just gets hurt a lot. He stays healthy; he stays motivated; he's number 1.

    Go Eagles.

As much as I hate to admit it, but Eli is the number 1 QB in our division.

I do believe MV7 can get it done if we:

    1) protect him by running more

    2) add some size and meaness to our defense

    3) get Plax to compliment Desean in the red zone

Would you give up watkins, allen, jarrett, and graham for RG3... of course you would. This is why it pays to suck... Ask San Antonio with Duncan, the Bulls with D Rose, the Panthers with Newton etc...

Nothing like the truth! Of course, some will not allow logic to get in the way of their Kool-Aid enjoyment.

This usually works out better for the team getting the draft picks...a la Herschel Walker and Ricky Williams.

No player is a guarantee, and that's a lot to give up for one player. I'd rather be on the Rams side of this trade.
