SI's mock: Eagles take McCoy

Sports Illustrated's Peter King delivered his mock draft in this week's issue of the magazine, which was dropped in my mailbox yesterday.

The name he has down for the Eagles at No. 21 is Pittsburgh running back and Harrisburg native LeSean McCoy:

There are more accomplished backs in the draft, but coach Andy Reid loves how McCoy catches the ball out of the backfield. He'll provide relief for Brian Westbrook.

If you're wondering about Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno, King has the Chargers taking him at No. 16.

I'll have a complete draft profile of McCoy later today.

In other news...

** Yesterday we cited an SI report that the Eagles were interested in Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez and were willing to part with a third-round pick. An Eagles source shot down the report to The Inquirer's Bob Brookover. The source also said the Eagles are not in the mix for Braylon Edwards, Chad Ocho Cinco or Anquan Boldin.

** According to profootballtalk.com, the Eagles have $37.44 million in cap room, the most of any team in the league.

** Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants' chances of landing Braylon Edwards are "all but dead." Per the report, the Giants are willing to give up second- and fifth-round picks, but the Browns want a first- and a third-rounder.
