The Eagles made have made Kevin Curtis available for trade, according to one report. (File photo)

Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post wrote Monday that Kevin Curtis would be "available for trade" this week.

But Lombardi said he doubted anyone would make an offer.

Curtis has missed the Eagles' last two games with a knee injury, and after Jeremy Maclin's performance against the Bucs, it's reasonable to wonder if he has a role with the Birds going forward.

He had two catches for 26 yards in Week 1 against the Panthers and three for 44 yards against the Saints.

The NFL's trade deadline is Oct. 20.

Curtis had 77 catches for 1,110 yards and six touchdowns in his first year here in 2007. However, last year he appeared in just nine games, finishing with 33 catches for 390 yards. Curtis turned 31 in July.

Meanwhile, commissioner Roger Goodell commented today on the possibility of Rush Limbaugh buying the Rams, specifically referencing Limbaugh's comments about Donovan McNabb.

"The views of a lot of people, most importantly our players, and I've talked to players so I understand the issue of the players and the comments that Rush made specifically about Donovan, I disagree with very strongly," he said on NFL Network. "And it's polarizing comments that we don't think reflect accurately on the NFL or our players. And I obviously do not believe that those comments are positive and they're divisive, and that's a negative thing for us. But I disagree with those comments very strongly, and I've told the players that."

Much more coming Wednesday, including Man Up on the defense and our penalty tracker.

This would be a great move why trade a guy in the off season when his value is high when you can trade him during the season after he dropped every pass thrown his way, missed half of his team's games played and has a shaky knee all while in the 30 year old club.

What would you get for him? a 5th round pick at best... useless. Keep him around for insurance. He is a good team guy and if a starter goes down he can fill in.

I would just cut Curtis...he has dropped a lot of balls recently and doesn't still have the same speed since he's had the groin issue. They should have kept Baskett and got rid of Curtis from the start.

you guys don't know a good receiver when you see one! The man has been hurt and played hurt last season. I worked in constant pain for many years until I had to retire early because of it. It isn't easy working with pain, until you've done it then don't judge. I liked Baskett but he didn't have the speed, just sayin'...

What's funny about Rush is that his comments weren't racist- he just thought McNabb was overrated, and the MEDIA liked him because he was black. People need to stop being so sensitive.

Free speech is not allowed in the NFL. They want owners who toe the line.

Unless you can get something of value, keep him in case someone goes down. Maybe he'll have a decent 2nd half if he's healthy.

Keep all of the political extremist nut-jobs from both sides(Limbaugh, Sharpton) the hell out of the sports world. The sports world is our escape from those self-righteous blowhards.

curtis is hurt more than he plays we've got a set of great, young receivers and if we can trade curtis in for a vet that isn't gonna be hurt every game, then i say go for it.
