Reports: Springs to the Patriots

According to Shalise Manza Young of The Providence Journal, cornerback Shawn Springs is expected to sign with the New England Patriots.
The Eagles brought in Springs for a visit yesterday, and he revealed that the team was looking at him to play safety.
When reporters from The Inquirer or Daily News have an update on Springs, we'll include it in this post.
Meanwhile, teams are announcing left and right that they don't want Terrell Owens. Earlier, we mentioned the possibility of the Redskins as a possible destination, but Washington V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato says the team has "no interest," per redskins.com.
The one team that I have not seen go on the record and deny interest, and that some have rumored to be a possible destination, is the Oakland Raiders.
We'll keep you posted.
UPDATE (6:11 p.m.): Adam Schefter of the NFL Network also reports that Springs and the Patriots have agreed to a deal. Per Schefter, the deal is expected to be signed some time Thursday.

- From my count, in our last 15 drafts, we have had 5 players start from the 5th round or later (Celek 5th, Gaither 5th, Cole 5th, Tapeh 5th, Ike Reese 5th) and none after the 5th round. A better bet would be to trade all the picks from 5th, 6th, an 7th rounds to get even 1 4th rounder or better. Starters from rounds 1-4 are 40+.— pyleiton

- I need a legitmate answer: What, exactly are the Eagles doing this off-season? I fine with Stacy Andrews and Greg Lewis is a glorified track star. Other then that, what are they doing?
