Should the Eagles bring Jeremiah Trotter back?
Yes
No

At first, when I read the Tweets, I assumed there was some joke that I missed.

But it turns out that the report is serious.

The Eagles have worked out Jeremiah Trotter, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. According to the report, the Birds wanted to see what kind of shape he was in.

Wow. Where to begin?

Trotter has been out of the league since 2007 when he played three games for the Tampa Bay Bucs.

He of course had a pair of stints with the Eagles, one from 1998-2001 and another from 2004-2006.

Trotter is 32 years old and has been working as a radio host on 610 WIP.

This is pretty funny because you hear callers from time to time joke with Trotter about getting the pads back on and helping the Eagles. Some (pointing to self) always took the subject as a joke, but apparently maybe he's not done yet.

What does this say about the faith the Eagles have in their current linebacking situation? As I broke down earlier this week, Omar Gaither and Chris Gocong had particularly rough outings on Sunday aaginst the Saints.

So what do you say? Do you want the Axe Man back?

IF he can provide the run stop gap that the Birds need, then let's bring him back. He knows it would only be for this season as Stewart Bradley will be back next year.

Trot is only 32? He was around for a while, so I always assumed he was a few years older. If he's in shape, get him in the game. Maybe a few years off put some gas in the tank?

I love Trott like a brother but unless they are bringing him in to play special teams this is a joke. I did hear him on 610 a few weeks ago saying he was in his best shape in years and would still consider playing again. McNabbs feelings would be hurt though.

I dont care what kind of shape he's in... It's not football shape. If he's been out of football for that long, he'll get hurt when he comes back. I guarantee that. I thought he was older than 32 though.

They're not going to sign him. He has to be able to cover RBs and the Wildcat formations.

Being in shape and being in football shape are 2 totally different things. The guy hasn't played football in 2 yrs. He is NOT in shape the way they need him to be. Theres a reason this guy isn't playing in the NFL anymore. Stop going the cheap route and go after someone that actually still plays!! I mean this is ridiculous. If he does play and helps us thats great but can this management be any more stingy. You have a ton of money. Use it and a player or 2 and see if there's any trades out there worth making
