Eagles to check out two more prospects

The Eagles have worked out Southern Illinois running back Deji Karim and will bring him in for a visit next week, according to Chris Steuber of Scout.com.

Karim (5-9, 210) was not invited to the combine, but reportedly turned some heads at his Pro Day, running a 4.37 40-yard dash. Last year, he ran for 1,694 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Scout.com has him ranked as its 15th-best running back prospect, and Wes Bunting of the National Football Post has him at No. 11.

As I explained last week, if the Eagles do pick up a running back in the draft, chances are it won't be until the later rounds, given their offseason moves.

Meanwhile, UCLA defensive tackle Brian Price is scheduled to visit with the Eagles, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Price (6-1, 303) is considered one of the better DTs in this year's draft, as Bunting ranks him third at the position.

At the combine, Price benched 225 pounds 34 times, good for third-best among defensive linemen.

As a junior last season, he had seven sacks and was named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year.
