Safety Leonhard drawing interest from Birds?

Yesterday, the Eagles lost safety Brian Dawkins to the Broncos.

Tonight, there are rumors they could bring in Ravens safety Jim Leonhard for a visit.

A source tells Matt Bowen of the National Football Post that Leonhard has left New York without a contract and has drawn "considerable interest" from the Eagles.

Many expected Leonhard to sign with the Jets, but apparently he wants to look around first.

Erik Boland of Newsday reports that Leonhard is "likely to visit" with the Eagles, but the weather could alter his travel plans.

Dave Hutchinson of The Newar Star-Ledger says he'd be "shocked" if the Jets didn't eventually end up with Leonhard.

In addition to playing safety, Leonhard also has value on special teams. He spent his first three seasons with the Bills before joining the Ravens in 2008. He is 26-years-old.
