Report: DA demands jail time for Plax

Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau says Plaxico Burress is going to jail, one way or another.

"We've always taken the position that he's going to have to go to jail, whether by trial or by plea," he said, per the New York Post.

Morgenthau added that his office will announce the grand jury's vote within four weeks.

The post also reports that linebacker Antonio Pierce could still face jail time for possessing Burress' gun last November on the night when the former Giants WR shot himself in the thigh.

Sources tell the paper that a security worker placed the gun in the glove compartment of Pierce's Escalade the night of the incident.

Burress was let go by the Giants this offseason and has yet to catch on with another team. It remains to be seen what kind of penalty he will face from the league once his legal troubles are behind him.

On a somewhat-related note, Donovan McNabb said today he does not think Michael Vick should be suspended by the league.

So he and T.O. apparently do agree on something.
