Report: Parker could be traded

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Juqua Parker's name has been "kicked around" in trade discussions as Tuesday's deadline approaches.

It's difficult to imagine there being much of a market for Parker, who is 33 and in the final year of his contract, unless a team just needs a rotation guy because of other injuries.

But if Brandon Graham returns after the bye week, the Eagles will have some decisions to make at defensive end. They currently have five on the 53-man roster: Trent Cole, Jason Babin, Darryl Tapp, Phillip Hunt and Parker. Cole will miss his second straight game today, but when he returns, that's two more bodies than the Birds need on gameday. Hunt will almost certainly stop suiting up, but the Eagles generally go with four active defensive ends, so they'd still have one too many.

Parker has no sacks and one hurry on the season. He's been banged-up, but if you look at the numbers from my post on the wide-9 from Friday, Parker has not been effective as a pass rusher this season. It's been a rough year for the veteran, who of course jumped offsides at a crucial time last week against the Bills.

Parker has been with the Eagles since 2005. He had 30 sacks (averaging six per year) from 2006-2010.

The trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m.
