Reid says he expects McNabb to be back

Going into Saturday night's game against the Cowboys, there was a lot of discussion about whether this would possibly be Donovan McNabb's final game in an Eagles uniform.

After the 34-14 loss, Andy Reid was asked if he expected McNabb to be his quarterback next season.

"Yeah, I do," Reid said.

As for the game, Reid saw what the rest of us saw - that the Cowboys were the better football team.

"Today the Cowboys are a better football team, as they were last week, and there are no excuses for it," Reid said. "They outcoached us and outplayed us."

McNabb completed 19 of 37 passes for 230 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also lost a fumble in the second half.

McNabb was on the run for much of the game, as the Eagles' offensive line got manhandled. A week ago, the line played better than expected. But tonight, DeMarcus Ware dominated left tackle Jason Peters, and McNabb didn't have a lot of time to find receivers downfield.

McNabb's contract was reworked in the offseason, but not extended. He is currently signed through the 2010 season.
