Reid: We inquired about Boldin
Sheil Kapadia, Philly.com
Eagles coach Andy Reid said the team looked into the possibility of adding Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin, but he wouldn't offer any more details than that during an interview on ESPN this afternoon.
"We inquired, but that's as far as we went," he said.
When asked a follow-up question about if that meant the asking price was too high, Reid responded, "We inquired."
He touched on a few other topics:
** When asked about Donovan McNabb's contract situation, Reid avoided the question, telling ESPN's Tre Wingo he was asking all the tough questions, and that Jaws was there to answer those.
** When asked about fifth-round pick Cornelius Ingram, Reid said he thinks the Florida tight end should be ready for minicamp, but that the team would take it easy on him.
** When asked about the team's first two draft picks, Reid said, "It gives Donovan a few more weapons, so called weapons there."
Let's just hope DeSean doesn't have the typical second year. And the Flyers need to can Biron. Nuff said. elektrika
well, lets see how this will work out.it seems like boldin would have made sense,if...his asking price wasn't so high. glad Andy didn't deal,he would have been run outta town,or been hailed as a genious.lets welcome the new birds and see what works out,..meanwhile..........LETS GO 6ERS !!! teephilly76
alex..Boldin is available.... Nobody wants to pay him the $10 million yearly salary he thinks he will get which is why he wants out of Arizona.. crohnkiller
Hey Tre, your ratings will go down if you bring Andy back on. What a laughable interview that was with Tastycake man. Like watching tow-hair grow. pigsofsunday
brs is correct. I am sure 10 teams would meet the Cardinals asking price. What I am not sure of, is if 10 teams would meet Rosenmouth's asking price. Next question? Pat c
Always someone with a negative remark no matter what the Eagles do. Stop listening to 610. That's a not stop whine fest. Remember, if those guys were so smart, they would be working for the NFL. SayHello2MyLittleFriend
Lurie is too cheap to hire Boldin. Eagles managment is like the boss you know whom will give you a 1% raise and will lay you off your work despite how long you have worked there and will make you pay for your own coffee. laxcaptain14
denver2006 what team do you coach or general manage? phillyking22, got any idea what the eagles payroll is say compared to any other team? the miami marlins are the only professional sports franchise that you could call cheap. there are not any pro football teams that are cheap. the agents see to that. A 1st and a 3rd, Maclin and McCoy and 10 mil for a wr that may miss 4 games, @bears,redskins,@falcons,and @giants. Can't see giving all that for a player that is not going to have the ball in his hands most of the game. Baskett, Jackson, Maclin, Curtis, Avante or Brown would be great opposite Larry Fitzgerald. Don't get it twisted. Bolden is good but he is no Fitzgerald. Add the TE Ingram and the Eagles draft and offense is looking good. A plus Birds! VegasEagleFan

Anquan Boldin did not get traded and won't, get over it. Bogart
I think the salary demands of Anquan is what scared alot of teams away. People have understand that the recession has impact all industries including sports. I hate to say it but I understand why the Eagles did not make the trade. I think the weapons the picked up so far in the offseason is more than enough to make us contenders in the NFL. Anquan would have solidified our place even more so. But the contract demands was to much. Tejayanie
10+mil a year asking price=no trade offers for Boldin... merlinknghts
