Ranking Reid, Lurie and Kolb
Where does Andy Reid rank among NFL head coaches? Where does Jeffrey Lurie rank among owners? And Kevin Kolb among quarterbacks? Here's how the three stack up, based on national rankings.

* The Sporting News put together a set of rankings for the 32 coaches in the NFL. The list was compiled by the publication's writers and editors. Andy Reid came in at No. 6.
"Obviously, Coach Reid hasn't won (a Super Bowl) yet. … (But) if you're going to base (the ranking) on wins and success - not just Super Bowls - then definitely Coach Reid is top two, top three," said Eagles fullback Leonard Weaver.
The top five coaches are Bill Belichick, Sean Payton, Jeff Fisher, Mike Shanahan and Mike Tomlin. Tom Coughlin is seventh. John Harbaugh is ninth. Brad Childress is 14th. Wade Phillips 15th. And Steve Spagnuolo 32nd.
* SI.com's Peter King hands out his Final Cutdown Weekend Awards and gives the Andrews brothers a mention:
The All In The Family Award: To the Eagles. Two years ago, they thought they had 40 percent of their offensive line locked up for the next half-decade, with the Andrews brothers, Shawn and Stacy, playing integral roles. They fired Shawn in the offseason; he's now property of the Giants, and may start for the G-men, depending on the health of their interior line. And on Saturday they traded Stacy to the Seahawks for a seventh-round pick. I'm all for admitting mistakes and moving on, but that's a little ridiculous.
* Yahoo Sports' Michael Silver ranks the NFL's owners and has Jeffrey Lurie 11th:
If cool, stable, no-frills leadership is what you prefer, Lurie is a hell of a role model. A self-sufficient, non-meddlesome owner, Lurie has a strong, well-respected team president in Joe Banner and a similarly stable head-coaching situation. Lurie may not be as engaged on a league level as some of his peers would prefer, but he's a valued partner and positive force in the Philadelphia community whose organization has been consistently successful during Andy Reid's decade-long coaching tenure.
* ESPN.com's Bill Simmons ranks all 32 NFL quarterbacks, based on the question: Can you go to war with him? Simmons has Kevin Kolb 23rd:
A legitimate 2010 fantasy sleeper until everyone started pimping him, causing Kolb to make history: Without playing a down, he became overrated for being underrated. When he stunk against the Chiefs last weekend, every Philly fan remembered, "Oh yeah, we have no idea if this guy can be half as good as McNabb was." The good news for Kolb: Philly fans are famously patient and supportive. (Important note: I think this will swing back the other way. By mid-September, he's going to become so overrated for being underrated that it's going to make him underrated again, making him the first underrated overrated underrated guy.)
Some of the quarterbacks Simmons has ranked ahead of Kolb: Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Jason Campbell, Chad Henne, Kyle Orton/Tim Tebow, David Garrard.
* NFL.com's Bucky Brooks tabs Brandon Graham as a potential Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate:
The high-motor rusher will rack up sacks in the Eagles' blitz-happy system. With opponents sure to direct their protection towards Pro Bowler Trent Cole, Graham should get -- and win -- plenty of one-on-one matchups.
* NFL.com's Michael Lombardi lists 53 reasons to be intrigued by the upcoming NFL season. Kolb is No. 12:
Filling in for McNabb might make him the fan favorite to start the season, but unless Kolb leads the team to wins, his honeymoon will be short lived.
Sean McDermott also makes Lombardi's list:
He took over when Jim Johnson died last year, and last year was clearly a growing experience. This year, with Dick Jauron at his side, McDermott will have to be sharper and more precise with his in-game adjustments.
