Quick L.J. Smith update

By now, I'm sure you've heard that Tra Thomas is headed to the Jaguars on a three-year deal.

That further reduces the list of free-agent Eagles who are still looking for new homes.

The most notable ones still on the market are Jon Runyan and L.J. Smith.

Smith reportedly visited the Lions and the Falcons last week, but has yet to sign a deal.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Smith and his agent Brian Mackler have been in contact with the Lions since their visit last week. The headline on the story reads: L.J. Smith hasn't ruled out signing with Lions. Not sure exactly what that means. I can't imagine L.J. has ruled out signing with any team that might be interested. No word yet on what kind of deal he might be looking for.

In other news, Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News expects the Lions to pursue Rams wide receiver Torry Holt.

And earlier, we posted an Anquan Boldin update.
