Peters, Bills not close on deal

We've been talking quite a bit here at MTC about the future of Anquan Boldin, a player who is unhappy with his current deal, and could have a new home before the 2009 season begins.

Another such player who fits that description is Bills offensive tackle Jason Peters.

On philly.com and nationally, some have mentioned Philadelphia as a possible landing place for Peters.

And today, The Buffalo News reports that Peters and the Bills are very far apart on a new contract. League sources tell reporter Mark Gaughan that the two sides differ by more than $3 million per season.

According to Gaughan, Peters wants to be the highest-paid left tackle in the NFL. He sat out last summer and would be willing to do so again this summer, per the report.

In addition to the Eagles, Gaughan mentions the Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams, Packers and Lions as potential suitors for Peters.
