Here's the player-by-player breakdown of the Eagles' offensive performance against the Falcons after having re-watched the game.

Kevin Kolb- I'll have the full breakdown of his performance tomorrow, but the numbers speak for themselves. Kolb completed 23 of 29 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Two of the incompletions were drops, and one was batted down at the line of scrimmage. Kolb's 34-yard completion to DeSean Jackson was a beauty. His most impressive throw was probably the touchdown to Jeremy Maclin in the end zone. Kolb found Jason Avant for 21 yards on 2nd-and-13 with the Eagles backed up in their own end zone in the third. In the fourth, he fit the ball in a small window for a 14-yard completion to Brent Celek on 3rd-and-5. Kolb really helped the offensive line by getting rid of the ball quickly.
Owen Schmitt- Much of his playing time came in the fourth quarter when the Eagles' offense was chewing clock and running the ball. Schmitt had some good moments as a lead blocker. He helped clear the way for LeSean McCoy on a 6-yard run in the third, a 5-yard run in the third and a 9-yard run in the fourth.
LeSean McCoy- Overall, 21 carries for 64 yards. When I watched the game live, I thought McCoy was completely shut down after a good start, but that wasn't really the case. He had some decent runs in the second half. The numbers aren't too troublesome. I thought the Falcons linebackers made some good plays, and there were several carries where Atlanta knew the ball was going to him. McCoy had some good moments as a blocker. He helped chip on King Dunlap's side on the 34-yard touchdown to Jackson and a 17-yard completion to Maclin. He also picked up the blitz on two 21-yard completions to Avant.
Eldra Buckley- He was able to spell McCoy in the fourth quarter, carrying 12 times for 40 yards.
DeSean Jackson- On the Eagles' first eight offensive plays, he accounted for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The 31-yard touchdown run was a great individual effort. He also caught the 34-yard touchdown. We'll have to wait and see when Jackson returns to action after the devastating hit in the first half.
Jeremy Maclin- I wrote about him at length after the game. Jackson made a couple nice grabs early - one for 17 yards and one for 22. The touchdown in the red zone was impressive, and the 83-yard score came at an important time. In the second, Maclin showed good strength, making a 6-yard grab and then dragging his defender for 4 yards and a first down. He also did a good job as a blocker on Jackson's touchdown run. Overall, seven catches for 159 yards.
Jason Avant- He made a pair of 21-yard grabs - both on 2nd-and-13. Overall, Avant had five catches for 62 yards. He was slow to get to his block on a defensive back as McCoy was dropped for a loss in the second.
Chad Hall- He was on the field for about 37 percent of the offensive snaps. Hall had one catch for 5 yards and was targeted four times. He dropped a catchable ball from Kolb in the first quarter. Hall lined up in the backfield for a 5-yard carry in the first.
Brent Celek- He had four catches for 46 yards and was targeted seven times. Celek had a drop early on. He came up with a 14-yard grab on 3rd-and-5 in the third and a 24-yard grab on 3rd-and-7 in the fourth. As a blocker, he did a good job on the 34-yard completion to Jackson. He got beat one-on-one against Kroy Briermann in pass protection in the third.
Garrett Mills- He played 14 snaps - mostly late when the Eagles were chewing clock. No catches and no targets.
Winston Justice- Justice did a good job in pass protection. He and King Dunlap got quite a bit of help (as I detail below). Justice and Max Jean-Gilles did a poor job of communication and execution on the play where Jackson was injured. The defensive end rushed inside and the defensive tackle twisted outside, as they got pressure on Kolb. Justice was also beat by Biermann, who dropped McCoy for a 3-yard loss in the third. He got out in front on a screen to Celek in the second but couldn't make a block.
Max Jean-Gilles- Jean-Gilles had ups and downs. He did a good job on the Hall 5-yard carry in the first, a McCoy 4-yard carry in the second and a Buckley 6-yard gain in the fourth. Jean-Gilles probably got away with a hold on the first touchdown to Maclin. And he whiffed on his block on a screen to McCoy in the second. Jean-Gilles also got beat on a third-down throw by Kolb in the third.
Mike McGlynn- Aside from a couple mishaps, McGlynn did a good job for the second week in a row. He made a nice block on Hall's 5-yard carry and McCoy's 4-yard run in the second. Interior pressure really was not an issue at all in the passing game. McGlynn let the defensive tackle go by him too early on a screen attempt, resulting in the Falcons' only sack. He was also called for a false start in the first. Overall though, he's settling in nicely.
Todd Herremans- Herremans has put together two very strong games. The interior linemen did a good job in pass protection, especially on that 34-yard touchdown throw to Jackson. Herremans did a good job on several running plays also: an 8-yard McCoy carry in the first, a 4-yard McCoy run in the second and a 6-yard McCoy run in the third.
King Dunlap- And finally, Mr. Dunlap. He got the job done at left tackle in place of Jason Peters. But, really, the coaching staff and Kolb deserve a lot of credit. By my count, Kolb dropped back to pass 30 times, and on only10 of those plays was Dunlap asked to block a lineman one-on-one. He was helped with chips from McCoy, Celek, Avant and even Hall (on one play). In other instances, Herremans slid over to help. And the gameplan was very smart. The Eagles ran screens and rolled Kolb out at times. And play-action worked very well, which also helped. The Falcons sometimes dropped John Abraham back in coverage too. In other words, a lot of things came together. It wasn't just Dunlap lining up one-on-one with defensive ends and dominating them. Dunlap looked more comfortable in pass protection than he did in the run game. He was whistled for a 15-yard personal foul penalty in the red zone. Overall, a far better performance than I expected, but there's still a ways to go.

Great to see the O-line starting to gel, particularly Herremans rounding into his usual steady presence on that line...Shady is quietly emerging as an irreplaceable piece in this offense a la Brian Westbrook. All good stuff!

In spite of the recent good performances, Reid needs to address this group (O-line) in the off season....ultimately this bunch of journeymen (aside from Herremans) isnt going to get it done if they plan on being SB contenders anytime soon....— Cerestes- One game at a time. - Nice - we'll see just how much the O-line has gelled next week against the Titans. Celek, Avant and Maclin will need to create some space quickly so Kolb can get the ball out in a hurry. A couple well executed screens will be in order as well.

- "journeymen"??? They may not be the best line we've had, but the are definitely not journeymen...every O-line starter on Sunday was an Eagles draft pick. That doesn't fit the definition of journeymen...
Overall a solid game, which was the result of an excellent game plan...yes you have to give Andy and Marty some credit. It will be interesting to see what they come up with for next week...the Titans D absolutely destroyed a bad Jags O-line last night.— TheLlama - Slim Fast seems to have brought some stability to the oline, by shoring up the RG position and seeing McGlynn'acutty growing into his position, the offense has responded. This weekend will be another good test for the oline, Tenn runs a 3-4 I think and it will be a good barometer test to see how Mike picks up the blitzes and various rushers to see if they have grown there too.— Bleue

- Titans are the real test as many have said. Like the way Dunlop played and game was really well coached. For all those Reid haters, you can rip him all day when he makes dumb calls and timing errors, but give him props for a game like the falcons, was stellar. Theres a reason this team makes the playoffs so often, the nfl is all about schemes and coaching.— peteike
