Making sense of the Eagles' inactives

Here's a look at the Eagles' inactives for their Thursday night game against the Texans.

The Eagles' defense will be without Asante Samuel for the second week in a row.

That means Dimitri Patterson and Joselio Hanson will start once again, and rookie Trevard Lindley will enter the game in nickel situations.

Those three are joined by Jorrick Calvin as the four active cornerbacks. Lindley was on the field for over half the snaps last week and struggled. Jay Cutler targeted him often in the second half of the Eagles' loss.

Here's the complete list of inactives: Riley Cooper, Samuel, Brandon Hughes, Austin Howard, Reggie Wells, Juqua Parker, Garrett Mills and Mike Kafka.

The only change in inactives from last week is Cooper. Taking his place on the gameday roster will be Chad Hall. Hall is active for the fourth time all season and the first time since the Titans game. He has three catches for 19 yards and five carries for 24 yards.

Brandon Graham once again gets the start at defensive end in place of Parker. Graham played 34 of 50 snaps last week. Darryl Tapp also saw some action at DE.

For the fourth week in a row, Clay Harbor is the Eagles' second tight end. Harbor had a pair of catches last week, including a 24-yarder.

Rookie Daniel Te'o-Nesheim is active for the second straight week and the fourth time all season. He played eight snaps last week.

The Eagles once again have two backup offensive linemen: Max Jean-Gilles and King Dunlap.

The Birds have nine rookies active.

As always, I'll be live chatting the game at 8:20. Join in for updates and commentary on the action.
