Limbaugh talks McNabb, ESPN

POSTED: Sunday, February 14, 2010, 9:09 PM

Back in October of 2003, Rush Limbaugh resigned from ESPN after an uproar over comments he made about Donovan McNabb.

As you probably remember, Limbaugh said the media overrated McNabb because they wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.

More than six years later, he's bringing up the incident once again.

Limbaugh heard ESPN Radio host Erik Kuselias say McNabb was underrated in Philadelphia but overrated nationally last week.

Per Limbaugh's Web site, here's the exact quote from Kuselias:

"He's had a public fight with Rush Limbaugh, I don't mean the two of them, it was a polarizing issue. He's a had a public fight with T.O. He's been sort of underrated in his own city and maybe overrated nationally at the same time, it's been crazy!"

Limbaugh apparently saw no difference between what he said about McNabb and what Kuselias said.

He responded:

"What was that? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa hold it a minute. Is he still working there? Erik Kuselias has just said Donovan McNabb has been overrated nationally. Erik Kuselias just said that McNabb's been overrated nationally. Erik, if they zap you outta there, call me. I got some ideas."

Seahawks add Foley

The Seattle Seahawks have signed pass rusher Rickey Foley, his agent announced on Twitter. Reports surfaced earlier this month that the Eagles were one of the teams who worked him out. Foley, 27, led the CFL with 12 sacks last season.

He is overrated because He always talks big but doesn't get it done. He is to much of a clown and not serious enough about winning. Time to go lose somewhere else

Mjposner, that's a great analogy. And Limbaugh said McNabb was overrated because he was black, which he conveniently forgot to mention in his recent comments. I guess all the drugs messed with his memory.

McNabbs best days are behind him, he is still a good quartback but not a top ten QB. We should move on with Kolb and get what we can for McNabb. Build up the defense and O line.

You can say that Limbaugh is full of it. But on the other hand, there is the Rooney Rule.

Today's defenses are different. The better teams have the more sophisticated defenses and are masters at disguising them. Those better defenses are the ones that you go up against in the playoffs. They do everything possible to confuse the QB reads and they are good at it. To be successful in the post season you must have a QB with a quick brain. The QB must be able to quickly figure out what the defense is really doing and adapt accordingly. Many times the play called from the sidelines is immediately identified by the defense due to tendencies, formations, personnel etc. The game is quickly going back to the QB calling the plays, not in the huddle, but at the line. A great arm and scrambling ability are wonderful, but alone will not get you a championship. #5 has a lot of talent and is probably a decent person but just may not have a quick brain. Now, before all you race baiters come after my comments, I am not saying ALL blacks don’t have quick brains. We all get something, but nobody gets everything.

Rush is trash....nothing he says is important. Lonewolf is a joke, and once Kolb gets nailed and is out for the season (or forever), you'll finally get it. Kolb is not an NFL qb...too soft, too weak, no arm.....he won't make it.

Is Rush Limbaugh really that short sighted or is he just serving his own purpose? Is he so blind that he can't see the difference between his comment in 03 and this guys comment now? Limbaugh of course brought race into the picture, this other guy did not. And Limbaugh thinks the comments are the same? Hardly. Limbaugh's a clown.

I truly feel sorry for anyone that: a) can't see the differnce between Limbaugh's comment and Kuselias' - does anyone rally need to explain that? I also feel sorry for anyone that: 1) listens to, and takes any sort of cues from, Rush and/or 2)expects anything insightful, intelligent, or even germane to the topic, from Lonewolf.

Shame on you if you share the same opinions and deceit that the slug Limbaugh spews from his drug slurping mouth!

Thomas1963: Drew Brees would not be SB winner if Favre and Manning did not throw to the wrong person. Are you saying Favre and Manning are slow? Sanchez would be in SB if his defense did not fall apart in second half and kicker did not miss two field goal. Are you saying he is very quick?

Longevity is the ULTIMATE indicator of what level a QB is at. Brady, Manning, McNabb and now Brees after 9 years can make a claim to be in a group that adjusted their skills year after year to bring 10+ wins every year for their franchise (Brees actually did not do that).
