Limbaugh talks McNabb, ESPN

POSTED: Sunday, February 14, 2010, 9:09 PM

Back in October of 2003, Rush Limbaugh resigned from ESPN after an uproar over comments he made about Donovan McNabb.

As you probably remember, Limbaugh said the media overrated McNabb because they wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.

More than six years later, he's bringing up the incident once again.

Limbaugh heard ESPN Radio host Erik Kuselias say McNabb was underrated in Philadelphia but overrated nationally last week.

Per Limbaugh's Web site, here's the exact quote from Kuselias:

"He's had a public fight with Rush Limbaugh, I don't mean the two of them, it was a polarizing issue. He's a had a public fight with T.O. He's been sort of underrated in his own city and maybe overrated nationally at the same time, it's been crazy!"

Limbaugh apparently saw no difference between what he said about McNabb and what Kuselias said.

He responded:

"What was that? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa hold it a minute. Is he still working there? Erik Kuselias has just said Donovan McNabb has been overrated nationally. Erik Kuselias just said that McNabb's been overrated nationally. Erik, if they zap you outta there, call me. I got some ideas."

Seahawks add Foley

The Seattle Seahawks have signed pass rusher Rickey Foley, his agent announced on Twitter. Reports surfaced earlier this month that the Eagles were one of the teams who worked him out. Foley, 27, led the CFL with 12 sacks last season.

While there is no denying Reid has improved the Seagulls, and McNabb has had glimpses of stardom. It's over for the two, could we get another horrible coach, of course, could Kolb be the next Bobby Hoying, could be. PSWS, if being okay is your view of championship caliber, that's probably what you strive for on every level. Do you think people still talk about how great the Buffalo Bills were the years they lost Super Bowls. It's not about how many SBs you go to, it's how many times they give you the trophy after the game. Another blind Seagulls fan.

Hey Igotts its been done before. Brett Favre was a 2nd rd pick of the Atlanta Falcons, and the following year the Packers gave them their 1st rond pick for Favre, who had basically 0 NFL experience. It depends on how good a player an organization thinks a certain player will be.

watsonmr: Excellent point about Favre. Same happened with Brady when he moved from 4th QB to 2nd QB before training camp ended. Regarding Kolb, he has been steady 3rd QB and 2nd QB when Feeley and Vick were not available for 4 years. Also, former Eagles coaches from Vikes, St Louis, and Baltimore needed a new QB in last 3 years.... none of them came asking for Kolb.....

i'm waiting for the eagles to announce they've traded kolb... like the phils trading sandburg to the cubs for ivan dejesus or ferguson jenkins for nothing... after all these years of watching capn' andy trying to get this football coaching job figured out, i have no confidence in his ability to get it done... by the time he learns one lesson the game changes and he has to start over...

uh, yea ok, so in 99 when we drafted McNabb we should have never played him and stayed with Doug Peterson another season...because he was going to get it done and just needed some more time. thats a great idea there.

Reids own words: "Doug Peterson is the guy". Reality: 2 months later Doug Peterson is benched. Permenently.

Limbaugh fit right in with most of Philadelphia. Hate a Black Man for no reason. What did McNabb ever do to Limbaugh and the rest of you Haters? Wolf, Get a Life you Skinhead...Move to Dallas. ayou will be right at home with the rest of the Haters. Why not let Limbaugh own an NFL team? Jerry Jones is more racist than Limbaugh.

rush is a nut job but he was dead on in his comments about mcnabb and the media... mcnabb was and is overrated and sadly, it may have some racial apsects to it in some quarters... the great thing about sports is that it is the great leveler... it just comes down to the final score and the best man (team) wins... mcnabb has never (including college) finished a season with a bowl victory... that alone is not the only measure but it's obvious to anyone who is truly objective that he doesn't have what it takes.... he is just not a real leader on the field... he dosen't have the talent.

Why is this even being posted Sheil? Is this news? Rush Limbaugh is a crotchety curmudgeon who only has his radio show going for him. Who cares? But if its time again to beat up McPaid, I'm all for it (until he gets booted out of town).
