Monday Night Football analysts Jon Gruden and Ron Jaworski made their predictions for the Eagles and the NFC East during Sportscenter on Tuesday.
Jaws, Gruden on Eagles win total

The preseason predictions continue to trickle in from the national media.
Yesterday, I posted an item in which CBS' Phil Simms projected the Cowboys and Giants to make the postseason and the Eagles to miss out.
Today, two analysts with Philadelphia ties predicted that the Birds would not be over .500 in 2010.
During a Sportscenter segment on ESPN, Jon Gruden and Ron Jaworski were presented with 9 as the over/under for Eagles wins this season. And both analysts took the under.
"I'm not gonna make any friends in Philadelphia," Jaws said. "Less than 9 wins for the Eagles this year. A young team in transition, building for the future."
Does he expect Kevin Kolb to struggle?
"No, I don't," Jaws said. "I think he'll play solid. It's gonna be the defense."
Gruden agreed on the under.
"They've got a new quarterback, a lot of young players, tough division," he said.
Jaws predicted that the Cowboys would win the division, saying they'd win over 10 games. He has the other three teams in the division all finishing 8-8.
Gruden liked Dallas to win more than 10 games also, but he disagreed on the Giants, predicting that they'd win at least 11 games and take the division.
For the first time in a decade, it looks like it's going to be tough to find a member of the national media picking the Eagles to win the division.
RANKING KOLB 24TH
In case you missed it, ESPN.com's John Clayton released his list of quarterback rankings, and Kevin Kolb came in at No. 24:
Kolb is the perfect quarterback for Andy Reid's West Coast offense, which is why the Eagles traded Donovan McNabb to the Redskins. Kolb is a rhythm passer out of three- and five-step drops, and he should have a big statistical year.
Earlier I posted on the different things concerning the Eagles right now.

The defense looks pretty solid to me. Better than last year's D. And they were a top 10 unit. The X-factor is Kolb. Unfortunately, they have a hard schedule and play in a tough division. Could go 11-5 or 5-11. phillychaos- They will be lucky to win 6 games. AR always has small fast players. Problem is - they always get beat by BIG fast teams in the playoffs. I already miss DMC
- So yesterday the excuse was that Simms hates the Eagles, today it's?
Our D was 12th last year and we added simms , bradley and allen . The Eagles D will be top 6 at worst . I cant wait for all these moron talking heads who will be eating crow come december kdubs215
a good o line wins them 9 games. they o line stinks. 6 wins, 2 or 3 almost wins, but blown after bone-head penalties. their schedule is BRUTAL. look at the last 5 games. sore richard
I remember 44-6 and making a run into the playoffs,I remember asking the next year how did they get better for the next year.It seems to me they are caught in the poor draft loop, drafting OL+LB+DBs then having to pay for them in free-agency.I've seen it before poor drafts are tearing this team apart, not willing to keep the veterans that were the heart and soul of the team, yet paying FA's more than you offer your guys. The best DL is what a 3rd round pick?OL is a hodge podge of other teams no wants and I'm sorry JPeters is not a top OT no matter how many times he makes the ProBowl,I think the AFC teams figured with a lazy tackle they make some extra dough winning the ProBowl psychodad
A D-line of Cole, Bunkley, Patterson and Graham is very good. The LB's are better, Nate Allen is definitely better than Harris, Demps, etc. I think CBs are shaky, but overall that's a good defense. As we saw last year, the O-line cannot handle teams that have a good pass rush. I'd say 9-7 at best, probably 7-9. p-diddy
Eaglehart, would not win it all this year with Mcnabb , not with this schedule. Besides playing their own division, they play Packers,Cots, and Vikings, and upstarts like 49ers out there, and Houston. Plus Bears always give them tough game, and if Ryan plays for Atlanta this year, will be tough. They will be better next year, 1 more yr of experience, to go along with most likely easier schedule. And maybe find better O lineman. watsonmr
Memo to Howie R.: neither the O-Line nor the secondary is going to rouse this fanbase until we get a classic Philly-style masher in each unit: another Brian Dawkins/Andre Waters-type to unnerve the opposition's wideouts, and another John Runyan/Ron Heller to loosen the teeth of the opposition's d-linemen. I'd be much happier with an 8-8 record this year and feel more optimism about the "youth movement" if these cubs had the look of future blood-thirsty lions. As things stand, I'm preparing to utter the words "At least Brandon Graham..." a lot this fall. GhostOfJeromeBrown99
The offensive line is the main problem. When that is good, Kolb will be fine and Reid is at fault for not making a trade if in fact the draft didn't have good offensive lineman. sportsdead
Kolb will be a solid leader for this team and the D will manage to keep most teams under 20pts per game. It's going to be the O-Line that makes or breaks this team, and I am leaning towards the latter. 9-7. iamkingdunlap
WR's is still the hold back for me, the WR's the eagles have are soft. At TE we are set but the wide outs are like silly puddy! rayzoe
The first 8 games are going to be rough as they get their feet under themselves. The second half of the season will be a better barometer of how good (or bad) the D, Kolb, and O-line actually are. allen_jones
where is briandawkins20 to add some chronic-induced optimism to this board? barrywil
Big problems on the offensive line. 8-8 would be a miracle, more like 6-10. fanup
