Jauron update in Cleveland

Update: Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer reports via Twitter that Dick Jauron will be named the Browns' new defensive coordinator.

From earlier:

The likelihood of Dick Jauron going to Cleveland as their new defensive coordinator seems a little more likely this morning than it did last night.

That's because Dave Wannstedt is going to Buffalo to become the Bills' assistant head coach/linebackers coach, according to Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com. Wannstedt had interviewed with the Browns and was one of the candidates to become their defensive coordinator.

According to Marvez, Jauron is now the frontrunner in Cleveland.

The Browns have also interviewed Bill Davis, per Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer. Davis' name has been mentioned as a possible candidate with the Eagles as well. According to Cabot, Davis could wind up as a positions coach with the Browns if he doesn't get the coordinator position.

The beat guys have confirmed that Saints defensive backs coach Dennis Allen will be in Philadelphia to interview this weekend. You can check out the Eagles section for more details on the Birds' coaching search.
