As you know by now, the Eagles have acquired Bills Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters.

Reports indicate that the deal will not be finalized until the Eagles and Peters agree to terms on a new contract.

Update: ESPN.com's Tim Graham reports that Peters is currently meeting with the Eagles and talks are going so well that a deal could be announced today.

The Birds gave up the 28th pick in next weekend's draft, along with a fourth-rounder. The Bills will also receive an undisclosed pick in next year's draft.

The offensive line has a chance to be truly dominant next season, but how will this affect the rest of the team's plans?

ESPN reported yesterday that the Eagles were one of the teams that had shown interest in Anquan Boldin. You'd have to think that Boldin becomes a longshot now. As many of you would point out, I've been wrong before, but I can't imagine a scenario where they'd deal both first-round picks.

And then there's the question of the No. 21 selection.

While the Eagles surprise us (for better or worse) every year on draft day, most people seemed pretty confident that they'd select a tackle with one of their two first-round picks.

And in a way they did, in the form of a 27-year-old Pro Bowler.

But what will they do with the 21st pick now that Peters is on board?

Running back would seem like the most obvious option, but it's obviously far from a sure thing.

Offensive line depth? Tight end? A defensive back? Pass rusher?

Feel free to chime in with your thoughts.

Should be an interesting week.

Get Boldin anyway to keep him away from the Giants. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/157029-anquan-boldin-to-the-eagles-rumors-have-new-life

I don't understand why Boldin becomes a longshot. Here's the scenario we were looking at yesterday (or I was). Trade the 21st or 28th and a third and maybe a deal sweetner for Boldin, and address OT with the other first round pick. We addressed the LT with the other first rounder.....So what's changed?

I think the Eagles will hold on to the 21st (so no Boldin). Moreno or Pettigrew would be sweet, but if they wanted Donald Brown they could wait till the 2nd and get him. Not sure where Cook (the TE) is projected but he's definately not a 1st rounder, so I could see them going in any direction with the 21st.

LT was a def need. McNabb should have another millisecond or two now to throw at receiver's feet. I think they should pick the best available player left at #21 regardless of position. They can groom WBook's eventual replacement with a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Get Boldin and maybe McD will actually hit him instead of throwing it into the ground or to a db. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he have a higher percentage of completions when ole "whatshisname" was here!

vetlincbank... the difference between Peters and a first-round pick LT is 6 years of age. Those two first round picks promised to bring in two young, top-tier players. Two change that to two 28-year-old players deters the efforts the Eagles have made to replenish this team with young talent over the last two years. Boldin is no longer a good option.

The Eagles still have some options here if they want to get Boldin. They could trade their 1st and 3rd round picks, draft a RB in the 2nd round and then use Reggie Brown and their extra 5th round picks to get back into the 3rd round. If the Cards can't get a 1st rounder for Boldin from anyone else, maybe the Eagles could get Boldin for a 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder and Reggie Brown and then draft a RB with the 21st pick and use the extra 5th rounders to pick up a 3rd or 4th round draft pick.

More fat guys! We must have more fat guys!! Oh wait....after a decade+ AR is starting to rub off on me. Can we please get a freakin' RB with that pick or trade it for AQ? Preferably AQ, but something resembling an offensive weapon is NEEDED!

Peters is 27, not 28. Also, a lot of these guys are 22 or 23 when they are drafted...not 21. The difference in age is not that much. Plus, how can you say that the 28th pick in the draft "promised" to be a top-tier player. There are no guarantees in the draft. Peters IS a Pro-Bowl player right now. Players drafted in the late 1st round have just as good of a chance of being a bust instead of a Pro Bowler.

if we can get Boldin with the other 1st rounder (and whatever else)...do it!

Getting a proven left tackle like Peters was huge for us, especially since we're sitting thinking of lining herremans out there and hoping he can protect mnabbs blindside. One of the pro bowl wideouts would have been nice but matching up with the front four of the giants is still the key in this division.

I love the trade and have to disagree that "those 2 first rounders promised to bring in two young, top tier players". Like FredEx? Like McDougle? Better to get a proven pro-bowler then to take a chance on an unknown. 27 is in your prime, not old.

Curse of Billy Penn, you're an idiot. Offensive line is the most important part of this team. Last year, without Sean Andrews, this team couldn't run block to save their lives. The 2 tackles should've been in diapers for God's sake.(Depends not Pampers) We had a makeshift fullback that couldn't block my grandmother and no blocking tight ends. Do you ever wonder why we were so pass happy? A solid running game is the foundation of any good offense. With the revamped O-Line and a proven fullback, all we need is a solid blocking tight end and this offense has all the weapons it needs. Learn the game COBP...
