Fourth-quarter observations

15:00 -- When's the last time the Eagles were shut out in a preseason game? We might have to find out if they go scoreless here in the fourth quarter.

14:00 -- I could use some caffeine at this point. What's going on with the Phillies? DeSean Jackson has been a busy man for the second preseason game in a row. He's up to seven catches for 70 yards.

9:50 -- The Eagles just sent their quote sheet around. Here's what Brian Dawkins said about his hit on Muhsin Muhammad in the first half: "It was huge. I mean any time a team gets down there we pride ourselves by not giving up touchdowns. I just so happened to be the guy this time to be able to step up and make a big hit."

8:34 -- John Kasay kicks a 49-yard field goal to give the Panthers a 13-0 lead.

6:41 -- Kevin Kolb connects with Greg Lewis for a 33-yard touchdown, cutting Carolina's lead to 13-7.

6:15 -- Richmond McGee kicks a 40-yard field goal for the Eagles to cut the Panthers' lead to 13-10. The Eagles' defense forced a fumble and recovered to give the offense the ball in Carolina territory. However, Kolb and company couldn't get anything going, and the Eagles had to settle for a field goal.

2:15 -- The Eagles have their first lead of the game after a 51-yard touchdown run by Tony Hunt.
