The problem is not that the Eagles are butchers, not more than any other team. The problem is that the NFL, having for years encouraged ever increasing athleticism and aggression among its players, now finds itself in the awkward position of athleticism and aggression having gotten out of control. So much so that the game now endangers players' brains, limbs and lives. The NFL is responding with relatively incoherent regulations on unnecessary roughness. But how to define unnecessary brutality in a sport where random brutality is encouraged? The NFL is in crisis, for sure. (Not to mention the crisis of refereeing.) The league had better recognize it.- That call was junk...it was a fumble...that entire drive was a gift...like Manning needs the zebras help too...— ziggy
