Eagles need 'W' to keep pace in NFC East

When the Eagles kick off against the Bears tonight, they'll need a win to avoid falling into third place in the NFC East.

The Cowboys were shut out for 57-plus minutes today against the Redskins before Tony Romo hit Patrick Crayton for a 10-yard touchdown with 2:41 remaining, giving Dallas the 7-6 victory.

The Cowboys are 7-3 and remain in first place in the division. They get the Raiders on Thanksgiving before beginning a difficult five-game stretch. The Eagles, of course, travel to Dallas in Week 17 for the regular-season finale.

Meanwhile, the Giants won for the first time since Oct. 11, beating the Falcons in overtime, 34-31. Eli Manning threw for a career-high 384 yards, and Lawrence Tynes hit the 36-yard game-winner.

New York, which had lost four in a row, was up 31-17 in the third quarter before the Falcons mounted a comeback.

Running back Brandon Jacobs left the game with an injury in the third quarter and never returned, but he said he was fine after the game, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

New York is at 6-4 and in second place.

The Giants also play on Thanksgiving, traveling to Devner to face the Broncos in the night game. They then have three straight against divisional opponents.
