Eagles to reportedly check out ASU CB
Sheil Kapadia, Philly.com
The Eagles will have Arizona State cornerback Omar Bolden in for a visit, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com.
Bolden (5-10, 202) missed last season because of a torn ACL. According to NFL.com, he played exclusively on the outside during his college career and is a physical, press corner. Bolden led all cornerbacks with 24 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the combine.
However, he did not run the 40 in Indy, opting to instead wait for his Pro Day, which took place earlier this month. Per Doug Haller of the Tuscon Citizen, Bolden ran an unofficial 4.5.
"I still have a long way to go," Bolden told Haller. "I haven't played football since 2010. I'm just anxious to get back on the field."
Bolden also suffered a season-ending injury after four games in 2009. But when on the field in 2010, he was productive, earning unanimous All-Pac 10 first-team honors. Bolden also made plays as a kickoff returner, averaging 30.8 yards per return and scoring twice in his college career.
The biggest factor in determining Bolden's draft stock will be his knee, but he's listed as a mid-to-late round prospect by most draft sites.
In case you missed my post yesterday, the Birds also reportedly have visits scheduled with LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers and Montana cornerback Trumaine Johnson.
And for those of you wondering whether I'm going to keep track of all the visits in one place (like previous years), I am. Look for that later this week.

Perhaps we should try to find players who aren't coming off an ACL,MCL or achilles injury...just saying jss31
Reid has been trying to mimick Bill Walsh's luck since he has been here. Trying to draft talented guy who slipped in the draft because of injuries. And he hasnt been able to flip a injured talent from a low pick into a star. This sounds like a guy Andy Will draft or take as a free agent rookie. At some point the Eagles are going to have to take a player with potential at the place he is slotted at and be happy at were they got him instead of everything trying to be a bargin or great deal. When you shop at the 99 cent store for clothes you wind up spending more money because the quality fades so quickly. And you waste more money trying to buy 5 t shirts then spending a little more just to get a quality one that one die in your washer. This has been the Eagles philosophy for a while until recently and now we have to take that same quality over quantity tone in the draft. Zeru
I'm curious about the earlier injury. Warhound

Could we concentrate on some healthy players!!!! Please.... Oft injured players stay injured... Why are we waisting visits???? If he is available after 7 rounds as an undrafted players then take a look at him. Other then that look for healthy player.... mthamess
I don't mind them taking a flyer on a player coming off an injury but they haven't had any luck at it that's for sure...Jack I, Greg Lloyd, the TE from a few years ago...one hit would be nice but still waiting.
Might be better to use those lower picks to move UP a tad rather than amass a lot of coupons for Filene's Basement. tpizza
I dont think hes looking to take this guy in the first round.relax.hes a high risk high reward 6/7 round pick.who cares id perfer gambling like that in the late rounds.i think its good strategy. Sean s.- you and I and every other commenter here knows this guy is a 6/7 round pick at best. the problem is the lawyer/capologist/accountant and GM of our Eagles will think this guy is a steal in round 3 and will proceed to waste the pick on another injured player who will be cut in two years. the beat goes on.

They have to their homework. They have tried this in the past and struck out, but occasionally a player who would have had a first round grade drops to the 3rd or 4th round due to injury and they turn out to be a steal. From memory Jack Iwenuckwa was the last player like this (which bombed of course). They usually shy aware from injured players but if they get far enough into the draft some players are worth the chance. TubbyB
Hey warhound, are you by any chance curious about his earlier injury? Sean s.
Brian Westbrook dropped to the 3rd round as a result of his college injury history. I think he worked out OK. Sometimes things work out. Sometimes they don't. knighn
Kevin Reilly is available as a linebacker, let's look at him. jimmymack

Andy's Eagles Linebacker Check List: Under six feet tall? CHECK! South of 200 pounds? CHECK! Serious ligament damage? CHECK! Second career-ending injury? CHECK! Hasn't played football since 2010? CHECK! Hey - other teams may get the Super Bowl, but we are luckier still: We have Andy Reid, the coach with "intangibles." NM Eagle fan
Whenever I hear ACL and out all year, I think "With the 89th pick in the 2012 NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles select Omar Bolden, Corner Back, Arizona State". Must have a high motor! younged- Mrs. Roseman's little boy, Howie, thinks this guy is a steal for round 3.

@NM Eagle fan...great post! croozn

The Eagles don't like 100% non-injured players. They just don't. SeenGreen
That's funny, but true SeenGreen. I was telling my buddy that the Eagles might sign London Fletcher because he would be a bargain, and his best days are behind him, but he did not qualify due to the Eagles "must have had an ACL injury" qualifications.Sure enough, what kind of linebacker are they bringing in with great expectations? Only difference is achilles instead of ACL, but almost same difference. Both are hard to bounce back from, but the achilles thing may be a little more difficult to come back from. But that's your Philadelphia Eagles! antmry312
